Birthdays and Oz and SGA and Filtering

First of all, thanks so much to everyone who sent me birthday wishes, especially to cheights for the virtual balloons on my profile; and maddiec24, who sent me a lovely card via snail mail - you didn't have to do that, sweetie! What a lovely surprise.

Secondly - after nearly two years in the Oz fandom, I have finally seen Season 666. Ironically enough, I finished watching the DVDs the day before SBS (Aussie TV channel), decided to get off their butts and air the freakin' final season. Anyhoo, I am now also of the opinion that Fontana lost his damn mind while writing that - it was like watching a completely different show. Shit, anything that can make me feel kind of sad when Omar fucking White dies cannot be the same show. I mean, come on. But I have made my peace with it and shall say no more.


Thirdly - I cannot fucking believe that I have to wait 'til March - March! - for the next episode of SGA. Nevermind that we actually haven't even had Season 2 air down here yet - I have clearly gotten spoilt, having everything at my downloading fingertips. Having said that, the mid-season finale was freakin' awesome, with a few things that pissed me off thrown in for good measure.

Seriously, leaving Rodney out of the team goodbyes? Not cool. Although I choose to believe that he came to the pizza/beer/popcorn get-together on that last night, and asked everybody not to make a fuss at the gate in the morning, because he hates goodbyes. That's the only decent excuse I can come up with for Teyla not at least giving him an Athosian hug (although the one between her and John was heart-melty sweet). But sweet Jeebus, that phone conversation between John and Rodney? I nearly freakin' wet myself - THEY ARE SO MARRIED!!!

Did anyone else notice that John has a dressy version of his wristband? When they're at dinner - he's wearing a stringy bracelet instead of the sweatband. I don't know why I find that so bloody hilarious, but seriously.... love. Just love. What a dork :o)


Okey-dokey, I have also decided to do the friends-filtering thing from now on, so that I am not boring the non-fandom people on my f-list with fannish rambles, and nor am I swamping the Oz fans with all my SGA squee. Hopefully I've managed to get everyone on the right lists and not missed anyone. *crosses fingers*

SGA starts in the US in March, but it usually starts in Canada in January, and they are available for download. True, it's still a long wait, but not as bad.

Actually, I just noticed that he's wearing that same string thing during the Afghanistan flashbacks in 'Phantoms' (is it sad that I watch out for these things?), so maybe it's not a dressy wristband, but an 'earthside' wristband. Either way, he's still a freakin' dork. And somehow, still the coolest guy in the room.

I hope I'm on both those filters. *smile*
