It is too freakin' hot! I have to subject the members of my household to witnessing me going about my business sans pants! It's supposed to be autumn here for Pete's sake. It keeps raining on and off, on and off, and yet still, the god-awful, oppressive HEAT - oh, the humidity! :(
And I had to go vote in the state elections today. Note, "had to". As in, they slap you with a monster fine or jail time if you don't. Yeah, our idea of democracy is slightly skewed. Anyway, I voted for the Greens party - whee! Tree-hugging hippies, with out-and-proud gay senator! They'll never win for state premier, but hopefully their candidate for my local area's MP will. Either way, I can sleep at night knowing that if the goddamn Liberals (aka right-wing, wannabe-George Bushes, keeping the rich rich, and the poor poor) win, that I had nothing to do with it. And if Labour (the other main party) wins again... well they've done a shit job so far, but even they're better than the Liberal party. (Gee - can ya tell I'm left wing? LOL. Down with Howard!)
Wow - that was passionate for someone who usually doesn't give a crap about politics. I think I just got annoyed by the guy at the polls who tried to get me to vote for the Shooters Party. Their slogan was something like, "Stop the Greens from killing NSW!" And I'm like, "Save the state by giving everyone easier access to guns? I don't think so."
Seriously, what's that quote? Fighting for peace is like eating meat for vegetarianism? Some people just need a mighty thwack with the good ol' Bat of Logic and Commonsense.
