Cheerios company hit a with a YouTube-comment-section shitstorm from racist fucks for commercial featuring interracial family

It's 2013 - how in god's name is this even a issue anymore? I despair over America, I really do. Not that we don't have racists fucks in Australia, but I doubt they'd bother kicking up this much of a stink over a lousy commercial. Some of the comments on HuffPo are pretty terrible, including one about how humans aren't supposed to breed "outside their species".

Isn't there some way we could round up all these dumbasses, and leave them to rot in an inescapable gated community somewhere? Like a ghetto for bigoted pricks? I picture it being the kind of place you'd drive past with the doors locked and windows rolled up, while whispering to your children, "Look kids; that's where evil lives. Never ever get close enough to let one of them touch you - their hatred could be infectious." And meanwhile, the bigots will be happy, inbreeding themselves into deformed, brain-dead obsolescence, just like they believe nature intended. Win win.

I have seen that commercial any number of times and I just focused on the cute child and the setup to make Daddy's heart good. Being in an interacial relationship for years and having interacial kids, to me it is just what a family looks like.

My older brother is married to a Japanese woman and they have two absolutely beautiful biracial children. The idea that there are people out there who would look at them and say things like "it makes me want to vomit" is just infuriating and incredibly sad.

Isn't it ridiculous? I saw the commercial a couple days before I heard about the shit storm. I was so pleased to finally see a mixed family featured in a commercial, and then all the crap started. People suck.
