Uh... hi

Oh dear, let me apologise (yet again!) for my insane, borderline alcoholic, drunken blathering. I won't bore you with the aftermath, just know that I have calmed down and am A-OK. And thank you to the people who left me supportive comments, {{hugs}}.

Okay, enough of that shit, let's get back to fun fannish stuff - I have a question for the Oz peeps: Does anyone know why Oz seems to have been taken off the [livejournal.com profile] crack_van list? Did they decide to just kick us off or did somebody actually go and say 'don't bother with us, there's not much left to rec anymore'?

And are all the SGA peeps reading Crimes Against Humanity by [livejournal.com profile] seperis? It's Evil!Atlantis, and they're all psychotic killers in a max security prison - sound familiar? *g*. And it is so much better than you could ever think that slightly ridiculous premise could be - I'm loving it! And John and Rodney as the ultimate ego-maniacal world-destroyers are distubingly hot.

I've also been re-watching the entirety of Atlantis seasons 1 and 2 - it's a lot of fun picking out the continuity errors in the scripts. For instance, in '38 Minutes', Grodin tells them that closing the bulkhead door between the forward and rear sections of the jumper won't save them, because, "The atmosphere will leak like a sieve." Which implies that the bulkhead isn't airtight. So why was it suddenly airtight enough to launch McKay into space in 'Siege 1', and again to keep the water out in 'Grace Under Pressure'? He he - somebody screwed up with that one, unless my logic is completely off.

*re-reads last paragraph*. Wow, I appear to have turned into the ultimate sci-fi nerd - my old man would be so proud.

I thought Riley C was driving our Crack Van this month. ((hugs)) Glad you're feeling more the thing.

WTF?

OK, I had a couple of bad weeks of being too frazzled to try and pull some recs together, and yes, [livejournal.com profile] alinewrites practically said the fandom is dead and over in her one backhanded rec last month, but geez. My plans for this weeks included getting in three or four more recs and then begging someone, who isn't a slug, to take April.

So now we're relegated to defunct fandoms?

Well, I'm going to fire off an email and see what the deal is.

And, actually way more important than that: glad you're feeling better.

Thanks.

And yeah, I don't know about Crack Van - I went over to see if I could sign up for the next free month and our sign-up page had disappeared. Then I checked the user info and their list of active fandoms no longer included Oz. WTF? *shrugs*

Follow up the [livejournal.com profile] crack_van thing.

Yep, we've been kicked out, because for two years now they have, they claim, had to beg people to sign up to do recs.

We can ask for Oz to be a featured fandom, but frankly that just sounds like, "Well, it's sweet your little fandom's got a pulse, but really, it hardly warrants notice."

Well, that's a damn shame. We are not dead yet, goddammit. *Sigh*. I know I've developed a new fascination with SGA, but Oz is my 'first love', so to speak - it's forever.
