Okay, so I just finished downloading and watching 'The Long Goodbye'. And I just have to say:
OMG, JOHN AND RODNEY ARE SO TOTALLY BOYFRIENDS, AND RODNEY IS SO JEALOUSSSSS. Seriously, did you see the look on his face when Not!John insinuated that John cares for Teyla more than she knows? Jealousssss. And you know they totally put that in for the McShep fans - there was no logical reason for that split-second shot of Rodney at that particular time, other than to get my panties in twist.
And that shocked, disgusted, smile/grimace on Rodney's face during that Eww-nightmare-inducing-Shweir kiss? Yep. Jealoussss.
And when Not!Weir, pretending to be Weir, talked about the rush of emotion, seeing your love after so long? And John said he could imagine, and Rodney snapped that he couldn't? See, John totally could because he was referring to not seeing Rodney for 6 months while he was in that time warp, but Rodney was oblivious and could only think that John hadn't been through a consciousness-sharing experience like he had, and didn't realise. And of course, John couldn't explain what he actually meant because they were in public, so he pissily agreed with him. Yeah. See how I can totally read subtext into the subbest of texts like that? What can I say - it's a gift, LOL. And remember kiddies, subtext is merely an anagram of buttsex.
Now, other points of interest:
* Hee! How cute was Rodney's reaction when he popped up and saw Caldwell was back?
* I loved Rodney and Caldwell fighting over who was in charge. Although I kind of wish Rodney had won so we could see him in 'leader mode', being all bossy and hot and dominating and hot.
* Caldwell is so totally in love Elizabeth, he should just admit it already. And as much as I generally hate canon relationships, I actually don't think I'd mind seeing those two get together. Caldwell's crush makes me like him more - he's a jerk, but he's a jerk in wuv.
* I have to confess I really liked seeing Weir get the chance to kick butt. And you can tell Torri Higginson had a complete blast doing it.
* I shudder to think how many Sheppard/Weir fics are going to come out of that kiss, but I have to admit that after seeing all their little 'moments' together this season, I can kind of see where the Shweir shippers are coming from. But it doesn't mean I have to like it. I mean, het, eww, it's just so unnatural. *g*. And if the show's writers ever get those two together, I will be pissed. Off.
* I so want to see a McShep fic where John gives Rodney a hard time for trying to shoot him.
* I can't believe Ronon fell for Not!John's ruse. I was waiting for the moment when you realised he had a plan. There was no plan. I was very disappointed in him.
* OMG, Rodney watches Jeopardy, how freaking perfect is that?! I was waiting for him to say Dr. Who or Star Trek, but this was almost as good. And you know he'd be screaming out the answers before they've even finished asking the question, and happily making scathing remarks about the contestants' intelligence or lack thereof.
So, yeah - good ep :o)
