My attempts at doing crafty schtuff

Remember a few months ago when I asked my American f-listers for pennies for a craft project? Well fanfromfla was kind enough to send me some, and I just remembered I never shared the results.

I'm so not a crafty-type person, but when my sister Eleena had a baby girl last October and named her Penny, I just knew I had to make her some jewellery with pennies. I made sure to get pennies minted in 2012 so they had her year of birth on them, then drilled tiny holes in them, and used metal links and pliers to attach them to chains I'd made to size. Ended up with a baby-sized necklace and bracelet (I can add links to lengthen the chains as she grows), and I don't think they turned out too badly considering I'd never attempted anything like this before.



I just took these pics with my phone, which doesn't do close-ups too well, so forgive the quality.


Since the hole at the top of the coin went through Abe's head, I decided to use the 'tails' side for the necklace.


And then used the 'heads' side for the bracelet.

I know what you mean; I have tons of projects I'd like to do, but never seem to have the time or motivation to actually get them done.
