...courtesy of thefridayfive1) This is the 1st of September, what do you want to accomplish by the 31st?
I would like to get some writing done! I have not written in nearly a year! My muses have deserted me, which sucks ass (and not in a positive, life-affirming way), because I’ve left a WIP hanging, and
I still owe rileyc
a fic from the Team Tergesen Auction last year
. I freaking suck – I either have no time or energy to write, or I sit down to do it… and I got nothin’ :(2) What does September make you think about or feel?
My berfday, yo! The 20th. Dude, I’m gonna be 23. Which is halfway to 25. Which is halfway to 30. *sigh*. ‘Tis a slippery slope…3) September is the ninth month; can you name nine memories so far from this year?
Completely random memories, as they come to me –
January: My first day of my very first real job. Soooo
nervous, but it actually went fairly well.
February: Kid at work, splitting his lip open and bleeding all over
my white shirt. And I had to catch the train home after that, looking like a survivor from a teen horror movie.
March: Quitting my job. Highly unpleasant business.
April: Erm… no real memories of his month – it’s kind of turned into an unemployed, sleep-til-noon, limbo-type haze.
May: I finally got around to seeing PIN. Wow, it’s really sad that I can remember nothing else from that month. But, dude – Baby!Hewlett!
June: Finally getting another job, but deciding I wasn’t right for it 2 weeks later. Which was when I started casual work! Which I love!
July: Doing so completely awesome
at one of my casual teaching gigs, that a bunch of the parents and
the director of the centre, raved about me. Dude, the director liked me so much she even offered to give me a lift after work – that never
August: My five-week full-time gig, replacing a teacher holidaying overseas. During which time, I had two very sweet little girls tell me, “You look very beautiful today, Erin.” It’s the little things that get you through the day, you know?
September: Today, my last day of the five-week gig – I’m walking past the playground fence on my way home, and one of the kids yells, “No! Come back!”, before sticking her head through the bars and making kissy faces at me. So I walk back over and give her a kiss. I move away again and she says, “Wait! Cuddles!” So I awkwardly give her a cuddle around the bars, and tell her goodbye. She says goodbye and looks very sad as I walk away. Daaaw – moments like that just melt your heart. 4) What does September have in common with three other months and can you name them?
Oh duh – gee, could it be that it ends in ‘-ber’ like October, November and December? What a dumb question.5) The first weekend in September signals the end of summer for many even though it doesn’t really end for weeks. When does summer end for you?
Uh, for me, summer ends at the end of March – you know, ‘cos I live in the Southern Hemisphere? On the other hand, September means no more freezing my damn ass off, even though there’s usually a lot of rain to go with the warmer temperatures.
